If you smell gas, immediately put out all smoking materials and any open flames. In addition, do not use any lights, telephones, appliances or cell phones as sparks or flames from these sources may cause an explosion or fire.
If you smell propane gas that you think might be leaking, you should immediately leave the area and get everyone out of the area or the building where you suspect that gas might be leaking. Once you leave the area, you should locate and shut off the main gas supply valve on your propane tank, once it is safe to do so.
When you have exited the area and are are safely away from the source of the gas smell, you should immediately report the leak from a neighbor's home or other nearby safe location by calling Wakulla L.P. Gas immediately. If you can't reach your propane retailer, call 911 or your local the local fire department immediately.
- Do not re-enter the building until your propane retailer or fire department has determined that it is ok to do so.
- Always have a qualified service technician from your local propane retailer check your entire system and any of your propane appliances to make sure they are completely leak-free before you attempt using them.
